We (humans) should not try to save (as in were destroying it because of industry, smog, pollution, ect) the world (earth, the planet) because it will end (cosmic entity will hit us and destroy us, ect) some day anyways. Correct? ?? If so why, if not why.

Ummmm...you're on crack if you adhear to this policy of rape and pillage. I am sure that this is exactly what you've expected to hear...so I'll leave it at that.

well, looked at objectively if we continue on our path to destruction we'll kill ourselves off and the world will be a better place. earth has a long time to bounce back.

It's true. No need to have kids then. I guess that I can forego all of my plans now that we will be destroying the sustainability of the planet. Don't you think that adopting this way of thinking might just affect those around you and the way that you yourself live. Every day we could watch another natural resource slip off of the meters. The decline will be so entertaining to watch...and only the poor would truely suffer.

(don't worry...I don't think you meant it that way...just being extreme for fun)

naw, we'll all suffer, just some of us (the elite) won't accept what's really happening until the very end and then their expressions will be priceless.

subjectively of course I'd like a nice world to live in but I can also see the benefit inherent in purging the human cancer from the earth.

Actually I didn't have any expectations. It was a question for responses - what say you.

The problem is alot of people still "rape and pillage" what the world provides for life. And most aren't on crack. Most that do the destruction are conciences human beings. Are there good reasons to continue on the path of unsustainability? If not, how is it possible for a person to continue on that path?

I don't know if I agree with that - "If your not with us your against us". Some one said that and I think he was wrong in saying that also. I could see, 'If your part of the problem then your not part of the solution.' There is a difference (I think).

I think there is a case to be made for the proposition that if you are not part of the problem, you can't really be part of the solution.

of course for some people, there are "good reasons" to continue on the path which is not sustainable. financial reasons. people are conscious of what they are doing but by being financially influenced, a whole lot of people will turn a blind eye to environmental issues. one would need to look at the profitability of still being environmentally conscious and realizing that it's possible to maintain the sustainability of the earth while still offering the incentive to do so.

im not as scared of a cosmic collision or an inherent natural fusible end of the earth as we know it as much as i am scared that my own people (or the American govt) will destroy its sustenance before it's time is naturall up!

nature doesnt scare me as much as humans! love ya

It's always strange to hear stuff like "nature doesnt scare me as much as humans!" How long will we remove ourselves from nature. We're still right there in the middle of it all and we talk like we're looking down from Olympus sometimes. We are a manifestation of nature that just happens to have an unnatural abilty and desire to destroy and recreate from base materials. What this natural manifestation on crack needs is to remember where it comes from in order not to destroy the womb.
