Okay...I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories...but this gives me pause.
It seems that in the first debate, some images of Bush's backside show a square anomaly on his back, under his jacket.
news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3730364.stm
His campaign communications director brushes it off as some wrinkle in his jacket. Have you guys ever seen a wrinkle like that?

Here's a second reference with both debates and two backside shots.

Maybe I'm just crazy.

Re: Did Bush Have a Transmitter?
Mon, October 11, 2004 - 8:57 AMI think it was a vest of some sort.
If he was really wired I'd imagine it would be with a very small radio receiver buried deep in one of his ears.
Besides, I don't think their's any pictures of wires leading up to his ears.
The truth is bush is telepathetic and doesn't need to be wired. -

Mon, October 11, 2004 - 12:41 PMMaybe that's where he keeps his pointed tail when not in use, all folded up into a bundle on his back, so as not to scare the voters. -

Mon, October 11, 2004 - 6:29 PMIf he was wired you'd think someone could have prompted him with something to say that i havent heard in an anti-kerry commercial yet.
If i have to hear one more person quote "I voted for the 87 billion before i voted against it" im going to scream.

Tue, October 12, 2004 - 1:43 AMi think it is a fabric wrinkle and nothing more. if he really needed an earpiece they have recievers that are about the size of a miracle ear and dont need the transmitter box. -

Re: Did Bush Have a Transmitter?
Tue, October 12, 2004 - 1:59 AMI agree. Could also explain <tinfoil hat> why he had to keep stopping "to think". The sound quality and volume would be low. </tinfoil hat> -

Re: Did Bush Have a Transmitter?
Tue, October 12, 2004 - 2:14 AMThose stops are due to all the right wing radio commercial jingles.
I dont think he needs an external transmitter.
They prep him up good before the events and speeches.
He's kinda useful that way :-)

Aint that the truth !
